CyanogenMod9 ICS ROM v3 for Nexus S and Nexus S 4G with Matr1x Kernel!

Here’s an update on CM9 ICS ROM for Nexus S and Nexus S 4G. Last time I installed it, it was one of the first ICS ROMs available and very buggy. Well, the recent version 3.0 ROMs are probably one of the best out there. One of the things I noticed about this ROM is that the camera/camcorder start-up lag is almost non-existent, something I was wishing to be fixed on the ICS ROMs. Other than that, there’s only great things I can say about CM9 ICS ROM, it comes with loads of customizations like the launcher, ability to add CM9 themes, and tweak CPU overclock/unde

NexusBeam ICS ROM for Rooted Nexus S!

As for the Nexus S ICS ROMs, you might want to give this NexusBeam ICS ROM a try.  Although I still haven’t found a kernel to work well with it(believe me, I tried all of them), the highlight of this ICS ROM is that it runs super-smooth without any overclocking.  As far as ICS ROMs go, NexusBeam ICS ROM is the smoothest ROM I’ve tried so far with no lag when browsing the web.

The NexusBeam ROM does come with GPU rendering, which might be why and give this a go as everything is working on this ROM.

AndroidME ICS ROM for Rooted Nexus S!

Last couple days I have been guilty of trying out many ICS ROMs for my Nexus S and I think I may have found a good ICS ROM for it, the AndroidME ICS ROM.

I am not going to define a good ICS ROM here by judging its features and listing them but from experience of using these ROMs.  And based on that, the AndroidME ICS ROM is one of the smoother ROMs on the Nexus S.

Of course, there’s more work to do like matching up the ROM with the right kernel to make it even faster/smoother but we will have that later this week.

In the meanwhile, go ahead and try this

CyanogenMod 9 ICS ROM with Matr1X Kernel for Rooted Nexus S and Nexus S 4G!

CyanogenMod 9 is probably one of the faster setups for Nexus S on ICS right now, overclocked to 1.46Ghz with Matr1x kernel, if you know a better setup, don’t hesisitate to let me know.

This is a pretty “pure” AOSP ROM with minimal bloatware plus it comes with DSP Manager for those of you audiophiles.

There’s a lot of ICS ROMs out now so I will keep you posted.

For Nexus S, flash ROM, GoogleApps, and Kernel. For Nexus S 4G, flash ROM and Kernel.

ICS OTA Update on Nexus S!

ICS OTA update (official ICS update from Google) has been released as of yesterday.  Those of you on stock Gingerbread ROM should automatically be updated to the new Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0.3.

I got a bit curious so unrooted my Nexus S then manually installed the official ICS update.  Surprisingly, I find the official ICS update missing stuff like NFC and Face Unlock, which worked fine on the ICS ROM by Brainmaster.

So what?  I would advice not unrooting
