ICS ROM forRooted Nexus S and Nexus S 4G! [Brainmaster]

Couple weeks back, we did showcase a beta version of ported Nexus S ICS ROM and Nexus S 4G ICS ROM but since Google has released the full ICS source code, we have a lot of great ICS ROMs popping up left and right.

One of the better ICS ROMs that I’ve been trying recently is the Brainmaster ICS ROM, which is available for both regular Nexus S and Nexus S 4G.

Matr1X ROM for Rooted Nexus S and Nexus S 4G! [ROM of the Week]

If you are like a flasholic like myself, then you will want to try out the ROM of the week, Matri1x ROM, which comes with Matri1x kernel(one of the best battery life) and goodies.

This Matri1x ROM comes with BLN, which allows you to have LED notifications on your e-mails, calls, SMS messages, and whatnot.  I find this very useful when watching a movie or something and I don’t have to turn on my phone to find out I have a new e-mail or a missed call.

(Light will turn on if new notifications are available and turn off when there’s none

How to Force your Nexus S into ClockworkMod Recovery!

A lot of people have been telling me that they can’t get into ClockworkMod recovery to save their life, even if they’ve flashed the recovery in fastboot a thousand times.  Well, that happened to me after trying to get into CWM after installing the latest ICS ROM.

This is some kind of security added after Android 2.3.6 ROMs that messes up your ability to get into CWM.

If this happens to you, you can still boot into CWM by flashing recovery to boot partition.  This will basically boot your phone into CWM every time until you flash a new ROM.

Ice Cream Sandwich ROM for Rooted Nexus S!

For folks with a regular Nexus S, you are not out of luck either as there’s a fully working ICS ROM for a rooted Nexus S.  Most things are working on this ROM except for panoramic camera, NFC, and other minor things.  But it’s a completely usable daily driver ROM.

The ICS ROM is a bit laggy due to the fact that it’s a ported ROM but things should get better in the near future and I will post updates on future versions.

Try it out and let me know how you like ICS!  Nexus S is one of the best devices for Ice Cream Sandwich.

Ice Cream Sandwich ROM for Rooted Nexus S 4G!

For those of you who must have the best of the latest, you might want to give Android Ice Cream Sandwich ROM a try, ported off Android SDK, everything works except for 4G and other minor things like panoramic camera and NFC.  Regular camera and camcorder is working fine though for both front and back cameras.

The best part about this ICS ROM is that you get to try out the real Ice Cream Sandwich apps and by the time an official version comes out, you should be a pro at it.  This is what I am running for now.

Try it out and let me know what you think!

One warning though, I haven’t been able to flash Trinity kernels on this ROM so there’s no overclocking here but it’s a great ROM if you don’t need OC.

MIUI ROM for Rooted Nexus S and Nexus S 4G! [5000+ Quadrant][1.544Ghz OC]

I’ve reviewed the MIUI ROM months ago when it was in still its beta stages.  After months of upgrades, I’ve finally got a chance to review it again and wow, MIUI ROM for the Nexus S and Nexus S 4G have gotten really spectacular with a ton of more features.

First and foremost, the MIUI ROM doesn’t have 4G support for Nexus S 4G but other than that, there’s only good things I can say about the latest MIUI ROM.

When I first tried MIUI ROM on the Nexus S, it was very laggy and slow but the recent versions have cleaned up all that lag.
