NexusBeam ICS ROM for Rooted Nexus S!

As for the Nexus S ICS ROMs, you might want to give this NexusBeam ICS ROM a try.  Although I still haven’t found a kernel to work well with it(believe me, I tried all of them), the highlight of this ICS ROM is that it runs super-smooth without any overclocking.  As far as ICS ROMs go, NexusBeam ICS ROM is the smoothest ROM I’ve tried so far with no lag when browsing the web.

The NexusBeam ROM does come with GPU rendering, which might be why and give this a go as everything is working on this ROM.

  4. Darius says:

So far I’ve been using this ROM for almost a month. Smooth and stable so far. I also use Eugene’s speedy kernel and overclocked it to 1.3ghz. And its now lightning fast with no FC. I’m using i9023.

  5. Terry says:

ROM seems good, but I need a different radio for my Telus nexus S i9020a

    ROM baseband version is:
    NO DGSXXKF1

    I need:
    UCKF1

Tried installing this zip to phone, but did not work.
    UCKF1-GRK39F-radio-nexuss-unsigned.zip (that goes with ICS.4.0.3.IML74K.zip)

    • nico says:

Had the same problem. What I did was go to rootzwiki and find the radio.zip for the phone ,it’s a rogers i9020a. Move it to the root of the SD. Next open rom manager and boot into recovery. Next do a factory reset and wipe the caches. Flash the from first and then flash the radio.zip right after. Reboot and it should work. Worked for me. J just make sure u get the right radio file for your model.

  6. Cesar says:

    Hi NexusHacks

What is the differences between Roms ( BrainMaster , AndroidME ) and Kernel ( Matrix – Glados ) ?

    • Kevin says:

a kernel interacts with the hardware and the overlaying software which is the ROM
So basicly it’s ROM > Kernel > hardware

  7. Bogdan says:

My network is unavailable on this ROM. I am on Telus, Canada. Does anyone know any possible solutions?

Anyone having problems with random reboots with this rom? Since installing, on a number of occasions, my phone will randomly freeze and reboot itself. Any ideas as to why this is happening, and what can be done to fix the problem? Thanks!

  10. Dane says:

It’s the best ROM ever right now. And Face Unlock works great!! I’m gonna stay with this one for a long time!! Thanks again. Cheers!!!

  11. Oonie2111 says:

I’ve installed NexusBeam ICS, but I faced one problem: phone cannot find a wifi network. I’ve tried lots of times, on different places and so on. Can anyone help?

  13. Darius says:

Forgive me my post above is for Oli. That link is for speedy kernel. Here is the link for the new ROM http://www.multiupload.com/W14VQ5FNJ9

  14. MaxPower says:

Android Beam ICS is working well! One issue though is the face unlock. IT SUCKS! It never works so I’ve gotten rid of it. Other than that, this is pretty smooth but it has random hackups and slow downs here and there, but I guess that’s expected.

    • Nexus S Hacks says:

true, face unlock is a bit slow on this ROM unless you are in full sunlight, I am looking for a better ROM/kernel combo so watch for that.

  15. Kevin says:

Well can’t wait for the next one then :)

Soon to receive my nexus S – secretly hoping it’ll be a i9020 (doesn’t say on shop’s page)
(Hard to get a new nexus S now it seems…)

  16. Olivier says:

Nexus Beam is great but try the Android Open Kang Project milesotne 2 with Matrx Kernel…..totally awesome.

  17. Nick Levene says:

I am currently using this Rom/Kernel combo and i have to say it is the most amazing and satisfying thing ever, battery life is amazing and no lag! NexusBeam 4.2.3 ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1380608 ) and Steve Garons ICS 11UV Kernel ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1427352 )
Tip: activate the “Lagfree” governor to remove lag.

  18. kvsherry says:
